Welcome to The Lazy Seal Cottages. Two modern, warm, private and clean cottages at Cape Foulwind near Westport. Fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday, they are a comfortable base for beaches, walkways, sunset views from the lighthouse, the Star Tavern, Tauranga Bay and local West Coast adventures.
The Lazy Seal Cottages offer private self-contained accommodation around 10km southwest of Westport at Cape Foulwind. Guests can stay close to the Seal Colony Walkway, local beaches, Tauranga Bay, the Kawatiri Coastal Trail and relaxed West Coast scenery while enjoying the space and privacy of a cottage.
Modern and spacious cottages, your home away from home. Everything you need while exploring our part of the stunning West Coast. Cosy and warm for a winter escape, or open the bi-folds and enjoy the private sunny decking area.
Cottage Two is dog friendly by prior arrangement only.
The Lazy Seal Cottages are 10 minutes southwest of Westport. Cape Foulwind is a peaceful beachside community with rugged coastline, beaches and walkways to explore.
We have a big old black lab, Monty, and a very loving boxer dog, Missy, on site. They have a large yard attached to our house, so they do not usually wander the property, but if you want some doggy love they are happy to come and see you too.
There is so much to do and explore, you will never have enough time.
Kawatiri Coastal Trail, surfing, walkways, golf, fishing, historic sites, museum visits, Unimog tours, beach walks, Old Ghost Road, Pancake Rocks (50 minutes away), Truman Track, Karamea (90 minutes away), Heaphy Track and Oparara Limestone Caves

There are two private self-contained holiday cottages with queen beds, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry facilities, private decks, BBQs and heating.
Cottage Two is dog friendly by prior arrangement only. Please contact The Lazy Seal Cottages before booking if you would like to bring a dog.
